Yandina 2

Sunday 13th October 2013

First up was a trip to the Maroochy Wetlands. Here was a walk on the boardwalk through rainforest and different types of woodlands and out to mangroves and mudflats. As I was there early it was quiet and lots of interesting birds to see and listen to. Lunch time was on to the Maroochy Botanical Gardens with its sculptures and other interesting sights. In the afternoon I went to visit Aunty Dawn (dad's younger sister) in Buderim.

Black Mountain to Yandina

Friday 11th October 2013

Left Black Mountain and visited Noosa Botanical Gardens, then on to Eumundi for a look around. While having lunch in a cafe there was a thump and a scurrying noise on the wooden floor. A lace monitor proceeded to make his way through the cafe. Then it was on to Yandina to check into the caravan park, the worst one that I have stayed in so far.

A "good looking" Turkey.

This morning went with Valerie to "Seed Savers" meeting in Pomona. Met some very interesting people.

One hen got caught being up on the bean
trellis.

At last I got a photo of a King Parrot.

April & Yarna playing in the garden.

A bowl full of red-browed finches.

Hanging on for dear life.

And then they were gone.

Warwick to Black Mountain

Tuesday 8th October 2013

I'm now working on Queensland time and they don't have daylight saving. The magpies here in Warwick are on N.S.W. time as they started singing at 3.30am this morning. From Warwick to Toowoomba, down the mountain to Gatton, then Esk, Kilcoy to Caboolture. It was not yet lunch time when I went through Caboolture and I was feeling good so I decided to go through to Val and Bill's place at Black Mountain.

Upper Bingara to Warwick

Monday 7th October 2013

After a lovely evening meal of spicy prawns and other goodies along with red wine the time had come to move on. It was a great couple of days catching up and having a great time with friends. On leaving Bingara all the campervans and motorhomes were coming into town for the CMCA Singles Rally. (time to leave town!!)As it was a public holiday the road was mostly quiet. A driving day and consequently no photos.
